Abstract

Adjustment is one’s attempt to achieve peace in oneself and the environment, so that hostility, envy as an inappropriate personal response and less efficient. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and adolescent self-adjustment at Budi Utomo orphanage. This type of quantitative correlational research population of 44 adolescents. Probability sampling technique with 40 teenagers. Data collection tools using a questionnaire developed by reserchers besed on theory. The results of date analysis with the t test obtained 2,032 indicated that there was a significant relationship between self-esteem and self-adjustment. Thus it was concluded that the high self-esteem of adolescents and low self-adjustment and unable to show their abilities to others.
